Honey

Honey is a natural sweetener that comes from bees. Bees collect nectar from flowers, then take it back to their hives where they work their magic to turn it into delicious honey. It is a popular ingredient known for its sweet taste and golden colour.

To make honey, bees fly from flower to flower collecting nectar using their special tube-like tongues. Once they have a full load, they return to the hive and pass the nectar to other worker bees. These bees chew the nectar and store it in honeycomb cells. With the help of enzymes and the heat in the hive, the nectar gradually turns into the thick, sweet honey we enjoy.

Honey is often used in cooking and baking to add sweetness and flavour. It can be found in a wide range of foods like cereals, teas, and desserts. Honey also acts as a natural preservative, helping to extend the shelf life of products like jams and sauces. Its unique properties make it a versatile ingredient in both sweet and savoury dishes.
