Mozzarella cheese

Mozzarella cheese is a dairy ingredient that comes from cow's milk. It is a soft and white cheese with a mild taste, commonly used on pizzas, salads, and sandwiches.

To make mozzarella cheese, milk is first heated and then an acid or enzyme is added to separate the curds from the whey. The curds are then stretched and formed into the familiar ball shape that we recognise as mozzarella cheese. It's a process that has been around for centuries and results in a smooth and creamy cheese.

Mozzarella cheese is often listed on food labels because of its rich and creamy flavour, as well as its ability to melt beautifully when heated. You can find it in dishes like lasagne, caprese salad, and toasted sandwiches, adding a deliciously gooey texture and savoury taste.
